On the first day, I arrived at Bucharest Airport and was picked up my the host family where I was going to be staying for my internship. I arrived at around five in the afternoon. I reunited with the Laftis family ( the Greek family I was going to stay with ) and we drove over to their house. It was about a fifty mintue drive from their house.
The Laftis family consists of Mr. Laftis and Mrs. Laftis and their three children. Two of their children were in Greece for the summer holiday but the youngest, Maria, was still at home with her parents, given she is seven years old and her elder brothers are 17 and 20.
Not a lot happened that evening. We ate domino's pizza and I rode around on a bike with Maria and she showed me around the compound. The Laftis family live in an American style compound with other international families. It is a closed of community for foreigners who work in Romania.
The evening ended with me watching some Romanian television before going off to bed.
